We got some of the same here in western NC today, not as large or as thickly fallen as this, though. Reminds me of what Laura Ingalls Wilder said in one of her "Little House on the Prairie" series of books, writing in the era before refrigeration, "The rich get their ice in the summer, but the poor get theirs in the winter."
