It is awesome to watch a widebody jet come in low and slow and drop a quarter mile of line.

It was this exact location some 44 years ago as an 8 year old boy, that I grew a great love for mother nature and the great outdoors. My Uncle owned a small cabin in Duck Creek.I still remember walking down the dirt driveway, through the wildflowers to the meadow in front of his cabin. As a California boy, it blew me away that right here, within a hop skip and a jump was an ice clear meandering stream that divides Duck Creek and Hwy 14 that was packed with monster Brownies and Cutthroats. I remember the first tug on my line and the stringer of 7 Trout caught.I bagged my first deer up on Strawberry point. Saw my first Mountain Lion in Cedar Breaks.Bought my first Straw Cowboy hat at that little store, the name escapes me, that sold everything an 8 year old boy needed for the adventure of a lifetime... Beef Jerky, licorice,a hunting knife, salmon eggs for bait, boots that could handle the water and lava rocks where the marmots played. Now a Forest Fire Supervisor (Captain) in Region 8 (Florida),I cannot wait until I retire and once again live out my last days in Duck Creek Utah. Back then of course, no one called it Duck Crick, just simply "Movie Ranch", for the few Westerns that were filmed there. How many guys alive nowadays can say they fished next to The Duke, John Wayne on Aspen Mirror Lake? I can. I'm rambling.Good times.

We lived parallel lives. I'm a SoCal, same age, same experiences, same career field.

The area's waiting for your return.
