Weather Underground Forecast for Friday, July 10, 2009.
The remnants of Tropical Storm Blanca continue tracking west-northwestward away from Mexico on Friday. This is expected to continue bringing periods of heavy rain, strong winds, and dangerous surf to the region, but landfall is not anticipated with this system.
Meanwhile, a tropical wave will extend over southwestern Mexico and push moist conditions onshore. This will trigger moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms over south-central Mexico and Guatemala, with widespread showers extending well northward into Guadalajara and Mexico City as well as up the Yucatan Peninsula. To the south, onshore flow from the Caribbean Sea over Central America will allow for wet weather to extend along the eastern coasts of Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Heaviest rainfall is anticipated over Costa Rica and western Panama. Jumping over the Caribbean, the Greater and Lesser Antilles will see pleasant weather on Friday with usual scattered showers developing in the afternoon. In the north, a front lingering over the Southeastern US will continue kicking up scattered showers and thunderstorms over the Bahamas and Gulf states.
