Weather Underground Forecast for Wednesday, November 04, 2009.
Mirinae has lost most of its strength as it has moved over land and now brings active weather to Vietnam and Cambodia. On Wednesday, this system will become absorbed into the atmospheric flow and split into two smaller storms. One will move southwestward and bring moderate to heavy showers and thunderstorms to Malaysia, while a weaker system will move northwestward, tracking through Thailand and into Burma. Expect lighter showers with less intense storms in these areas.
Meanwhile, in China, high pressure will continue building over the country, allowing for sunny and mild weather to persist on Wednesday. Beijing will remain cool with highs in the lower 50s(F)/ 12(C), while Shanghai will see highs in the mid-70s(F)/ lower 20s, both under mostly sunny skies. A few clouds will move into southern China as flow around Mirinae pushes moisture onshore, thus, expect a few patchy clouds in Hong Kong with highs in the mid-80s(F)/ upper 20s(C). To the east, a small but relatively weak trough of low pressure will linger over the Sea of Japan. This will allow for clouds over the Korean Peninsula, but no significant rainfall is anticipated, while northern Japan may see a few sprinkles. Seoul will see overcast skies with highs near 60s(F) and Tokyo will see partly sunny skies with highs in the lower 60s(F)/ mid-teens(C).
In Australia, high pressure will build into the Great Australian Bight, while smaller troughs of low pressure will track through the country on Wednesday. One will approach Western Australia and produce moderately heavy showers along the coast, while a small system will kick up light coastal showers over New South Whales. Thus, Sydney will see a few scattered showers and cooler conditions with highs in the mid-60s(F)/ mid-teens(C).
