Sunshine is described in so many ways; "weak January sun" or "white hot midsummer heat and glare", but I always have enjoyed the sunshine we get here in WNY in the fall. I would describe it as golden sunshine. Part of that might be the fall colors; the golden and red leaves, the oranges and yellows at the farm markets, the deep hues of the mum plants that are just starting to bloom. They all combine to give a sense of this rich abundance of the earth that we get to enjoy before the snows of November and December start swirling.
I think colors are part of what make seasons, and holidays resonate with us humans. The stores are already filling up with Halloween goods in their oranges and blacks, to be followed soon after by the deep reds and browns of Thanksgiving. Colors and smells bring back memories and thoughts of the seasonal events which is why they are used as marketing tools (at least colors are).
Thus, I love living here where the colors of the seasons are so dramatic and present. As life slowly progresses and the seasonal changes remind of us the constant cyclical nature of all life, nature provides us with a beautiful reminder each and every day.
