Sat at 1:00 pm I dumped 1.6" of rain from both gauges. Today we are already above 4" of rain as of 10:15am.. for total so far of 5.6" in past two days.
That is a lot of rain .. normally this much rain only comes with a tropical system.
Sat. April 28, 2012:
It's raining, it's pouring.
The old man is snoring.
He went to bed and he bumped his head
and he couldn't wake up in the morning.
WOW here in SE Florida looks like another very wet weekend. Did the rainy season arrive a little early this year?
It is that time again for my March of Dimes, March for Babies fundraiser for all our Babies.
Our joint goal is again $1,000 which we have raised the last two years with alot of your help.
But not sure we will get that far this year.
So many of you have helped out in the past and
I thank you so much. If anyone can help it will be appreciated. No donation is too small to be helpful.
I have been a March of Dimes Mother since Greg was born premature back in 1975.
3 of our 5 grandchildren were March of Dimes Babies and the one coming this summer could also
need this organization but we hope not. So once again, I will walk/run for our Babies.

So many of you are helping us again this year and it is so appreciated!!!
You know who you are and so do I. Thank you all so much!!!

Here are my "weather" maps
Sunrise, Florida:

I found out, these maps are measuring fire hazard and soil moisture, not necessary drought according to rainfall.

After the warmest March on record we went to the wettest and coldest April on record!!!!
But we need the rain - although it has been too much, too soon, and it is not soaking in, but flooding everywhere! There are over 70 flood warnings in place!
Enjoy your Italian dinner - it is good to have great neighbour who take pity on you when yo have no kitchen!
We're Miami, Broward, and Palm Beach are under a flood watch.
I spent yesterday at a friend's house near the beach, and we got to see a good bit of the show. Most of the stunt plane stuff was focused at center stage, and we couldn't see that. But all the fighter jets and bombers came by.
According to channel 10 news, today's show is cancelled due to weather. Glad I got to see it when I did.
I think I'm going to take your advice and make it a mostly indoor day.
Jeff, from what I hear it is not going to stop at all today... and will continue thru Thur?
We are going to flood really bad if it keeps up at this pace...
LT, glad your Florida vacation was a good one... and that your wife has now gotten the surgery she needed. happy all this rain did not come until your vacation was over.. however it did rain last Saturday.
Thanks for stopping by.
Sandi, weather is fickled ... glad you are getting rain if you need it... we got plenty last weekend to last us a few weeks...when it all comes at once not so good.
if it keeps this up all day we will need that boat I have in the back yard to get in and out of the neighborhood. I am so excited about dinner at my neighbor's house.. it was her daughter's wedding we went to on March 31st. She is a really good Italian cook.. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.
I cannot believe who quickly that rain gauge is filling up... this is getting serious now.
You´re getting alot of rain? Must be a U.K. thing! Yesterday it reached 30C and sunny and today 23C but a bit cloudier. Should get colder and rainier as the week goes on. Must be May coming.
Maybe you should talk to Noah.
ET. thanks.. we are all going to be ducks.
I put 3 pictures in the header I took while ago...
and it is still raining.
Good news is Tuesday is a German holiday (May Day) and most Germans will be off tomorrow also. Translation: No traffic! Unfortunately I must go in as I am a U.S. government employee.
May Day is observed in most of the world, just not the U.S.
Stay dry. First downdrafts from the storm just hit me. Better go in.
enjoy your evening..
I was supposed to run another errand this afternoon, but I'm going to cancel it and deal with it after work tomorrow.
We are not too bad here, some flooding but not too much, but other areas of the country are much worse. I found this photo on Flickr. York is on flood alert - the river is 10 foot above normal and is expected to rise overnight after today's heavy rain!
We are getting ready to walk down to neighbor's house for dinner so hope it does not come another downpour until we are safely home later.
Sandi, wow that is some flooding.. not that bad here here.. yet... in the past few hours the heavy rain has let up a little so the streets had time to drain off some.. not flooded now like they were earlier..
I'll bet the canals are really high if not out of their banks.
There is a lot going on down in the Florida Straits that may or maynot bring a lot more rain...but we have alot of rain in our forecast for the next 7 days.
got to go for now.. enjoy your evening.
Sunny and dry today, about 75 degrees.
Got back to the office just as it started to rain again. And it's pouring now.
Radar shows lots of green out east, some yellow mixed in out west, and lots of yellow with some red off the coast. And the ground is already saturated. I hope there isn't much flooding.
And of course I don't mind you using my blog as a depot - put the coffee on, I shall be home in about an hour!!
Stopped for a break on the motorway, My driving eyes needed a rest!
So you went to your neighbors house for dinner last night.Did you swim, row,or just float over to their house. Amazing rain totals down there, and you may have a lot more to go too.
You treading water there yet?
Only been getting the occasional errant shower up here.
Stay safe.

Hi Jeff, I see you found me on WU at Sandi's blog.. when I am not logged in I can see my blog just not post on it..if you get a chance can you leave a message on my blog that I am "banned" from my own blog for some reason, under both my handles... Have tickets open with WU admin but they have not been able to fix the problem..
So..we need to keep this thing going while our fearless leader if banned!
The building next to me lost power this afternoon - according to FPL's web site, a few hundred people in Sunrise had that happen. Lucky it didn't hit my building!
-Jeff
Normally it just kinds seeps into the ground and drains into aquifers and such. But we're pretty saturated from the weekend, so it's going to start piling up. I have some areas in my yard showing puddles, and the lake in my back yard is almost as high as I've ever seen it.
Lucky for me, I'm on high ground in my cul-de-sac. It has to get a lot worse for me to have an issue.
"Error 330 (net::ERR_CONTENT_DECODING_FAILED): Unknown error"
I wonder if it's related to her problem.
Happy May the first!

HAPPY MAY DAY
HAPPY MAY
Happy May Day, everyone!
Oh my goodness..
Hi everyone.. I've missed you all!!!
It must be a Google Chrome thing???
But I did try to get on yesterday via IE and it still did not work..
I have to do some things but will be back later.
Oh yes, my neighborhood received a total of 7.25" of rain on Sat, Sun, and Mon!
I think that should last awhile!!!
Enjoy your day.. bbl..
I cannot believe I am on and I just sent WU Tech Support another Ticket!!!
Happy Wednesday!
I am pleased you are back with us, albeit in IE and not Chrome!
Just one silly question - when did you do the last manual scan of your computer with the virus checker. I know what you are like about your computer virus. lol
Back to work today, so you should be able to check in:)
Hope the kitchen is still progressing well!
