There's all kinds of how comes.
How come the other line always moves faster? If you change lines, then the other line moves faster. I just try to find either the shortes line or the line with folks with the least in their baskets and just stay there! LOL
We just had a good downpour! It didn't last long but, boy, did it come down while it was there. The sun is back out now. I'll have to check my gauge and see how much it was. I knew it was coming; it got really dark off to my north and the wind picked up.
I know I sound a bit like a broken record but most of our storms come from that direction. Our house faces south, more or less. If you stand on the front steps, to the left is generally eastward and to the right, westward.
Even though I say they build up to the north, they are really coming eastward from inland. It's just the way our house is situated, whcih makes it seem northerly.
I'm babbling, aren't I? LOL
I need to put up a fresh entry tonight but I'm not sure what. I have been so NOT inspired lately.
Or too lazy to do the research for something good.
Maybe you need to ease up on those bean burritos! :)
Hope you have a good weekend!
Hope you manage to get all your chores done today, but also get chance to rest up before your long trip next week. Once you get your desk clear on Tuesday can't you enclose it in a cage with sloping sides to stop colleagues putting more work on top!! lol
We got 3/4 inch of rain during the evening and overnight. Which makes the weeds in the yard shoot knee high in what seems like a matter of hours. More fun for Hubby.
Ylee, I'll have you know I did not have any bean burritos last night!
Sandi, oh, how I wish I could have a slanted desk so that the work slides off. Unfortunately, they sneak it in via computer and it sticks tight.
Yep, I've got some chores to take care of and a couple of errands to run today. Laundry to do.
I've been checking the weather forecast, with an eye to my drive up to Dad's and back next week. It looks like there's going to be the possiblity of scattered showers and thunderstorms for the foreseeable future. I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed that they scatter somewhere other than my route there and back. Most of them have been blowing up in the afternoons, which is typical for our area this time of year.
I will be leaving early Wed a.m., stopping in O'burg to visit my uncle, who has been in hospital for this past two weeks. I'll get lunch there before hitting the road for the rest of the trip up. I expect to reach Dad's midafternoon.
I'll be coming back Sat afternoon after lunch, arriving home between 5:30 and 6:30. It just depends on when I leave Dad's and how many pit stops I make on the way home.
Those are all lovely roses but that white one is absolutely gorgeous. I can almost smell it!
We've got a front coming through and I can feel the thunder under my feet.
Just managed to get Gus inside. He didn't want to come until I asked him, "You want some num-nums?"
That lights a fire under him! ZIP! He was inside faster than you could blink.
Partly cloudy today. Not too hot outside. Hubby mowed the grass earlier, to avoid the midday heat and to get a jump on any afternoon showers.
Not sure how much rain we got late yesterday and last night. I haven't checked the gauge. It came down hard for about 10 minutes, then tapered of to light rain, which did last for a while.
It's been John Wayne weekend on AMC. We're watching 'Big Jake' right now.
They'll run all of last season's 'Hell On Wheels' episodes after the movie is over, culminating with the new season's premier at 9:00 tonight. I totally got hooked on HOW when it first aired. Hubby has never seen it, since he was long in bed by the time it came on. Gives him a chance to see it.
I didn't get to Walmart yesterday, since that front blew in right about the time I was planning to go. I just said, "The heck with it. I'll just go tomorrow."
I'll run over there early this afternoon.
