This is a composite plot of the radar summary, echo tops, storm movement, TVS and MESO signatures and watch boxes. The radar summary is color coded by precip type. Greens, yellows and reds are rain. Pinks are mixed precipitation (freezing rain, sleet). Blues are snow. NOTE: Radar data is susceptible to a phenomena called anomalous propagation. This generally happens at night and appears as a area of 20 dBZ echos (darkest green) which is centered around each radar site and expands with time. To try and reduce the problem, low echo values near the radar sites have been removed.

Sending sympathies re: the allergies. This time of year, when our wind shifts to the north, it's miserable. I got up this morning and had watery eyes to beat the band - not just a little weepy, but like someone had turned on the faucet! I had to take a benadryl and wait a little so I could drive without tears running down my cheeks!
Have a good day - hope you're back to a nice, polite spring now. The back and forth this time of year is always "such" fun!
It's been a very busy past few days, so I haven't been able to respond to friendly posts below or circulate around the blogs.
What erratic weather patterns we've experienced these past couple of weeks! We've gone from a record-breaking summery feel of 91F degrees, in mid-April, to now overnight freeze warnings due to lows of 32F or below! Thankfully, this cold snap looks to be short-lived, as next week's forecast shows a possible return to daytime highs in the 70's towards the end. Can't wait! This month, April flowers, then showers, came before May ever had a chance to do its normal flora and fauna bidding. Thus far, local flower beds, etc. don't look too affected by last night's overnight freeze and, hopefully, they'll continue to thrive, in spite of more freezing lows to come. Will the real spring and summer weather please stand up? LOL!
We continue to be hampered by drier than normal weather conditions and remain, since a week ago, approx. -5.76 inches below normal rainfall for this time of year. Naturally, potential fire hazzard warnings remain in place until Mother Nature helps to get us back up to speed.
Plap ~ Hope your weekend and week ahead is grand! Glad that May arrives on Tuesday and hope that, this year, better, warmer and much safer weather will accompany the upcoming months or seasons! There's been too much weather-related devastation occurring nationwide in the past few years! So depressing!
Shore ~ So nice to hear from you again! I, too, remember the days (early 70's) when just starting out as a well-trained secretarial novice in the medical field. By the early 80's, to my amazement, my title suddenly changed to that of Administrative Medical Assistant. I found out, too, that some good natured, well-meaning higher-ups on Capitol Hill had also set aside a yearly date for our bosses to honor us. LOL! Quite honestly, whether one is called an administrative assistant or not, these now politically correct modern-day labelings seem more to do with clever rouses, that deflect attention away from the sub-standard pay, limited benefits, guff and the ever-increasing workload that usually come with it. Let's face it, neither male nor female administrative assistants, etc. can survive on inflated titles alone.
I leave you all today with a Youtube vid of an excellent remix of songs by Snow Patrol singing (Chasing Cars) mixed with Sting's (Every Breath You Take) from the movie, "Just Go With It." Seems apropos today.
We have a cloudy day, not a ray of sun. But it is warmish and that's a good thing. Hubby is scheduled to play golf tomorrow but I have a feeling that he will not play as we are supposed to get some rather heavy storms tomorrow. I think that I will gather my roses and some of the Iris and bring them in. I might as well enjoy them inside rather than have them be destroyed by heavy rain.
Yesterday we celebrated my husband's birthday by going out to dinner and we are planning to go out to lunch during the week to keep the celebration going. I am keeping busy with a little painting, reading, treadmill walking, and just lolling around. Koko is lolling all day long!
Have a good week.
