Gardening Time
So far this year we have a nice looking garden. It's thriving, and I picked our first tomato and first cucumber already. Last year we had some bad hail in March, and that was a huge setback - it killed all my plants, so I had to start over. Hopefully there won't be any hail this year and I get to harvest some vegetables.
I started the garden from seeds (you can get HALF off seeds here) but then I ended up going to Southern Gateway Garden Center (just before the Belle Chasse tunnel) and talked to the owner there. He was really helpful, and I got some eggplant seedlings from there.
More recently I got some fertilizer from Laughing Buddha in Metairie, and the owner there really knows his stuff as well.
So I have two good local garden centers to frequent, as well as Rose Garden Center on the expressway which is my favorite.
