Thank You to Toby Skinner and the Wunderground.com Team!
We were on "Cloud Nine" the whole weekend because of your thoughtful, kind, and generous support of our 3rd Annual WunderPhotos Meet-up! It was awesome that you sent Meteorologist, Alan T. Groundhog to each of us, to keep us informed with his "paws-on" weather predictions using the revolutionary wunderground.com forecasting model.

Thank You to Eric Garvey, Jekyll Island Marketing Director, for the delightful gift bags and mementos to treasure. Everyone was totally enchanted with Jekyll Island, "The Nearest Faraway Place"! Check out the Jekyll Island Media Lounge

Thank You to Ben Carswell, Jekyll Island Conservation Director, for giving us the opportunity to see "Chasing Ice" and to Jekyll Island for hosting this film in partnership with the EcoFocus Film Festival, Georgia Sea Grant, and the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve Coastal Training Program.

Thank You to Cricket Elrod for helping us plan our luncheon at the Courtyard at Crane!

Thank You to all our attendees and our hosts and hostesses! Thank You to all our WunderFriends worldwide who joined us on WunderPhotos!!! Laura/SunsetSailor and I, Dorothy/Willow13, are so grateful for your enthusiastic support!!

Thank You So Much to the WunderPhotographers who joined us in person and online!!
The WunderPhotos® Community is absolutely the BEST, rain or shine, hot or cold!!!! We love weather! It was unusually cold this weekend, but because we were treated to the premier of the Jekyll Island Green Screen movie, Chasing Ice, we were inspired by National Geographic photographer James Balog to not be wimps when our lows were in the 30s instead of our usual night-time lows of only 45-55 degrees!

Members of the Surfrider Foundation-Atlanta Chapter also attended the movie event! This was a great event that delightfully coincided with our annual WunderPhotos® meet-up!! There was standing room only with 800+ attendees viewing this amazing film! I'm so proud of the wonderful support for this amazing film!
Thank You to Ben Carswell, Jekyll Island Authority Conservation Director! Jekyll Island hosted this exciting evening in partnership with the EcoFocus Film Festival, Georgia Sea Grant, and the Sapelo Island National Estuarine Research Reserve – Coastal Training Program.

Plans for our 3rd Annual WunderPhotos® Meet-up on Jekyll Island, President's Day week-end, February 15-18, are complete. Our awesome planning committee volunteers for this event have all attended our WunderPhotos® Meet-ups from the beginning! Our gracious hosts and hostesses joining us are Leslie/dixiedaughter and Durward/AUphoto, and Marijka/gatorgal and her husband, Mil. Laura/SunsetSailor and Dorothy/Willow13 are so happy to have them helping us this time!

We'll to be treated to the EcoFocus Film Festival presenting The Jekyll Island Green Screen on Saturday, February 16th, 2013. The film is the award winning movie, Chasing Ice!! Jeff Masters said, "Chasing Ice is a great choice!" The movie is about the National Geographic photographer, James Balog, and his "long-term photography project that merges art and science to give a “visual voice” to the planet’s changing ecosystems. The portfolio of single-frame photographs celebrating the beauty—the art and architecture—of ice" is absolutely awe inspiring. For WunderPhotographers, this movie couldn't be more exciting and it's a one time exclusive showing here on Jekyll Island!! wunderground News: Chasing Ice: A Melting Landscape

The weather is lovely on Jekyll Island in February!
Our headquarters will be the lovely Jekyll Island Hampton Inn.

This blog of turtle photos was started a few years ago and it just keeps growing ... There are so many great turtle photographers on WunderPhotos!

Please enjoy these awesome photos of turtles from Wunder Photographers around the world! Many are endangered. The turtles are endangered, not the WunderPhotogs ... at least, I hope they are not endangered! ;-)
