I live in Calgary, where we get the Chinook Winds on a regular basis every winter. For us a 20 or 30 degree temperature change is not unusual. Yeah Oklahoma's recent change is a big one but this winter has been really up and down, I blame La Nina.
The entire winter here has been a rollercoaster, from 70F (20 C), the highest temp ever in November to a few days later when it was -20C. The last few weeks have had temps in the 50'sF (10-12C) followed by a regular pattern of days in the -20'sC, also heavy snowfall for us. So I'm in no way surprised Oklahoma finds itself in the middle of this and even more extreme.
By the by I'm very tired of this winter and it's repeating pattern of warm/ bitterly cold. It's exhausting!
