During the '50s and earlier '60s there was a radio broadcast called the Dosco News. Because shipping information was so important to Newfoundland, a portion of the show was dedicated to the shipping news. After the shipping reports the announcer would read messages from listeners of the show. They were usually messages from home to the men at sea, but sometimes there were messages like the one below.
The message was supposed to read:
Husband going to sea, would like prayers of listeners.
It was read:
Husband going to sea wife, would like prayers of listeners.
Ya gotta watch those commas.
Have a great Thursday.

Gave in Yesterday and put on the Jeans. Boy I hate wearing them things. LOL
Its raining cat and dogs here. Been a heavy downpour since I woke up at 5:00 this morning.
Two good things about rain - it isn't snow and you don't have to shovel it.
Enjoy your Friday. Hope you have a restful funfilled weekend

Marshmallow Roast. :-)
My Local weather station is showing 43 here this morning. I can't believe that is true.
Local News is reporting 50. That sounds better.
Tomorrow many countries will honor their war dead and fallen heros.

Undercover Clergy
A minister, a priest and a rabbi went for a hike one day. It was very hot. They were sweating and exhausted when they came upon a small lake. Since it was fairly secluded, they took off all their clothes and jumped in the water.
Feeling refreshed, the trio decided to pick a few berries while enjoying their "freedom." As they were crossing an open area, who should come along but a group of ladies from town. Unable to get to their clothes in time, the minister and the priest covered their privates and the rabbi covered his face while they ran for cover. After the ladies had left and the men got their clothes back on, the minister and the priest asked the rabbi why he covered his face rather than his privates. The rabbi replied, "I don't know about you, but in MY congregation, it's my face they would recognize."

Clyde the Newfie died in a fire and was burnt pretty badly and the
morgue needed someone to identify the body.
So they sent for his two best friends, Danny and Joey.
Danny went in and the mortician pulled back the sheet.
Danny said, "Yees by, he's burnt pretty bad. Roll him over."
So the mortician rolled him over and Danny looked down and said,
"Nope, it ain't Clyde."
The mortician thought that was rather strange.
Then he brought Joey in to identify the body and Joey took a look
at him and said, "Yees by, he's burnt real bad. Roll him over."
The mortician rolled him over and Joey looked down and
said: "No, it ain't Clyde."
The mortician asked, "How can you tell?"
Joey said: "Well,Clyde had two a**holes."
"What? He had two a**holes?" said the mortician.
Yees by, everyone in town knew he had two assholes. Every time the
three of us went to town, folks would say: "Here comes Clyde with
them two a**holes."
Have a great day.

It was a cool here last night with ice forming on the rain puddles. Right now it 32C with light snow showers.
So to start your week off right a little weather winter humor......
It was already late fall and the Indians on a remote reservation in South Dakota asked their new chief if the coming winter was going to
be cold or mild.
Since he was a chief in a modern society he had never been taught the old secrets. When he looked at the sky he couldn't tell what the winter was going to be like.
Nevertheless, to be on the safe side, he told his tribe that the winter was indeed going to be cold and that the members of the village
should collect firewood to be prepared.
Being a practical leader, after several days he got an idea. He went to the phone booth, called the National Weather Service and asked, 'Is the coming winter going to be cold?'
'It looks like this winter is going to be quite cold,' the meteorologist at the weather service responded.
So the chief went back to his people and told them to collect even more firewood in order to be prepared.
A week later he called the National Weather Service again. 'Does it still look like it is going to be a very cold winter?'
'Yes,' the man at National Weather Service again replied, 'it's going to be a very cold winter.'
The chief again went back to his people and ordered them to collect every scrap of firewood they could find.
Two weeks later the chief called the National Weather Service again. 'Are you absolutely sure that the winter is going to be very cold?'
'Absolutely,' the man replied. 'It's looking more and more like it is going to be one of the coldest winters we've ever seen.'
'How can you be so sure?' the chief asked.
The weatherman replied, 'The Indians are collecting firewood like crazy.'
Have a good one,

Any snow yet?
Still pretty warm down this way, though we're supposed to have some temps in the 30's tomorrow night (I think it is). Then it will warm back up some, though I think winter is getting it's foot in the door here now.
Hope you have a great Turkey Day! We had 3" of snow yesterday and dropped to 8 degrees at the airport this morning after it was 76 on Monday. Gotta love this Denver weather...

Did you survived the weekend in one piece? Are ready to face another week? Hope the joke starts it off with a smile.
An extremely modest man was in the hospital for a series of tests, the last of which had left his bodily systems upset.
Upon making several false alarm trips to the bathroom, he decided the latest episode was another and
stayed put. He suddenly filled his bed with diarrhea and was embarrassed beyond his ability to remain rational.
In a complete loss of composure he jumped out of bed, gathered up the bed sheets, and threw them out the hospital window.
A drunk was walking by the hospital when the sheets landed on him. He started yelling, cursing, and
swinging his arms violently trying to get the unknown things off, and ended up with the soiled sheets in a tangled pile at his feet. As the drunk stood there, unsteady on his feet, staring down at the sheets, a hospital security guard (barely containing his laughter) who had watched the whole incident walked up and asked, "What the heck is going on here?"
The drunk, still staring down replied: "I think I just beat the sh*t out of a ghost"

Canadian Beer Drinkers Threaten Planet
Scientists have found a new threat to the planet: Canadian beer drinkers.
The government-commissioned study says the old, inefficient "beer fridges" that one in three Canadian households use to store their Molson and Labatt's contribute significantly to global warming by guzzling gas- and coal-fired electricity.
"People need to understand the impact of their lifestyles," British environmental consultant Joanna Yarrow tells New Scientist magazine. "Clearly the environmental implications of having a frivolous luxury like a beer fridge are not hitting home. This research helps inform people — let's hope it has an effect."
The problem is that the beer fridges are mostly decades-old machines that began their second careers as beverage dispensers when Canadians upgraded to more energy-efficient models to store whatever Canadians eat besides doughnuts and poutine.
University of Alberta researcher Denise Young, who led the study, suggests that provincial authorities hold beer-fridge buy-backs or round-ups to eliminate the threat — methods that Americans use to get guns off the streets.
I replaced my old fridge last year. Was I worried about the planet? Nah, I had to biggie size as the old fridge had gotten to small to fulfil its intended purpose.
Have a good one.

with a windchill!! We PRAY for snow on Monday because that means it will be warmer with a nice coating on the ground! YAY! Stay warm and all that...
Have a Happy Sunday!
We had about 10 cm / 4 in of snow last night. We are now getting rain and freezing rain. Nasty, nasty. Myself and Deb have been out and scooped the driveway before the snow got a chance to freeze. According to the long range forecast we will be getting this type of weather for the next two or three days.
Given the conditions outside this will be a good day to stay in doors and watch football.
