Eddy Coming to Town!

After suddenly developing off the SELA coast, Tropical Storm Edouard looks to pose a genuine threat to the Houston/Galveston area. Depending on his landfall strength, Eddy could possibly break the streak of 19 years in which the area has not seen a hurricane (a streak that Humberto came so close to breaking last year). Personally, I believe that Ed will break the streak. After spending the entire day developing structure, he looks like he is finally ready to strengthen. I currently am forcasting Ed to make landfall along the middle 1/3 of Galveston Island as an 70 kt (80 mph) Catagory 1 Hurricane. However, everyone from Freeport, TX to Cameron, LA should be checking the offical forcast put out by the National Hurricane Center. Also, due to Edouard's speed, I don't expect flooding to be a monumental problem.
