Flood Warning, Flash Flood Warning
Statement as of 8:35 PM CDT op 28 mei 2015

The Flood Warning continues for
the Red River near Burkburnett.

* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 7:30 PM Thursday the stage was 10.8 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 9.0 feet.

* Forecast... the Red River will continue rising and crest near 11.5
feet early Sunday afternoon.

* Impact... at 12.0 feet... crop and range lands... oil fields... and
rural roads are affected. Some low-lying areas near the river are
isolated by high water in side channels. Bottomlands near Davidson
Oklahoma begin to flood several hours before the crest approaches
the Burkburnett area. The flood crest reaches the area along the
river near Taylor Oklahoma several hours later. Cattle and other
property should be relocated to places which are 3 feet higher than
nearby river banks to avoid being stranded.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the Wichita river at Wichita Falls.

* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 7:45 PM Thursday the stage was 17.2 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 18.0 feet.

* Forecast... rise above flood stage late Thursday evening and crest
near 19.9 feet Sunday evening.

* Impact... at 20.0 feet... in Wichita Falls... extensive flooding
occurs in Harrell and Lucy Parks... and on some low-lying streets.
Shallow residential flooding also occurs in these areas and in
Scotland Park. Agricultural areas upstream and downstream from
Wichita Falls experience widespread flood depths up to two feet.

the Flood Warning continues for
the Beaver Creek near Electra.

* From late tonight until further notice... or until the warning is
cancelled.

* At 8:00 PM Thursday the stage was 22.4 feet.

* Moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

* Forecast... rise above flood stage early Friday morning and crest
near 26.6 feet mid Saturday morning.

* Impact... at 27.0 feet... widespread flood levels up to 3 feet in
depth cover farm and range lands... and may inundate some oil and
gas facilities... along and near the creek in southern Wilbarger
County and southwestern Wichita County.

The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
eastern Wichita County in northern Texas...

* until 1100 PM CDT

* at 752 PM CDT... Doppler radar indicated persistent moderate rain
from Burkburnett to Wichita Falls. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Wichita Falls... Burkburnett... Iowa Park... Sheppard AFB... Pleasant
Valley and Cashion.

Additional rainfall amount of one inch is possible in the warned
area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Do not enter or cross flowing water or water of unknown depth.

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for...
Archer County in northern Texas...
Wichita County in northern Texas...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 555 PM CDT... National Weather Service radar indicated heavy
rain that will cause Urban and Small Stream flooding entering the
advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience minor flooding include
Wichita Falls... Burkburnett... Sheppard AFB... Iowa Park... Electra...
Archer City... Holliday... Scotland... Windthorst... Megargel...
Kamay... Mankins... Dundee and Lake Kickapoo.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Most flood deaths occur in automobiles. Never drive your vehicle into
areas where the water covers the roadway. Flood waters are usually
deeper than they appear. Just one foot of flowing water is powerful
enough to sweep vehicles off the Road. When encountering flooded
roads make the smart choice... turn around... dont drown.

western North Texas.

* Through Sunday morning

* Thursday afternoon and night... best chance for heavy rainfall
southwest Oklahoma and western North Texas. Locally 1 to 2
inches of rain possible with higher amounts.

* Friday through Saturday night... best chance for heavy rainfall
will reside from northern through central... and southern
Oklahoma... and western North Texas. Locally 1 to 2 inches of
rain possible with higher amounts.

* Widespread 1 to 3 inch rainfall totals are expected through
Saturday night... with locally higher amounts exceeding 5 inches
possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Monitor weather forecasts and information. Make plans to get to
higher ground if flooding happens.
