... Wind Advisory in effect from 1 am to 8 am CDT Wednesday...
The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a Wind
Advisory... which is in effect from 1 am to 8 am CDT Wednesday.
* Event... very windy conditions
* timing... tonight mainly after 9 PM CDT.
* Winds... north winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
* Impacts... lawn furniture and garbage cans could be blown about
by the wind. Vans... campers... trailers... and other high-
profile vehicles could briefly be hard to handle. Blowing dust
may reduce visibility to less than one at times.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 1:55 PM MDT op 11 maart 2014
... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/
this evening for 20 foot winds of 20 mph or more... humidity of
15 percent or less... and high to extreme fire danger for the
Guadalupe... Davis... and Apache Mountains... Van Horn and the
Highway 54 corridor... Reeves County and the upper trans Pecos...
and Marfa and Stockton plateaus...
* wind... west 20 to 25 mph.
* Humidity... 5 to 15 percent.
* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that may generate
Sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the potential to grow
quickly into dangerous wind- driven wildfires.
