... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6 am CDT /5 am MDT/
* event... very windy conditions and blowing dust.
* Timing... tonight.
* Winds... north winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 50 mph.
* Impacts... lawn furniture and garbage cans could be blown about
by the wind. Vans... campers... trailers... and other high-
profile vehicles could briefly be hard to handle. Blowing dust
may reduce visibility to less than one at times.
* Visibility... less than a mile... locally near one half mile.
A Wind Advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds
this strong can make driving difficult... especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution.
A blowing dust advisory means that blowing dust will restrict
visibilities to one mile or less. Travelers are urged to use
caution. People with respiratory problems should remain indoors
until the blowing dust subsides.
Fire Weather Warning
Statement as of 1:55 PM MDT op 11 maart 2014
... Red flag warning remains in effect until 10 PM CDT /9 PM MDT/
this evening for 20 foot winds of 20 mph or more... humidity of
15 percent or less... and high to extreme fire danger for the
southeast New Mexico plains... western Low Rolling Plains...
and Permian Basin...
* wind... west to northwest 20 to 25 mph.
* Humidity... 5 to 10 percent.
* Impacts... any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Avoid the use of open flames or any activities that may generate
Sparks. Accidental ignitions will have the potential to grow
quickly into dangerous wind- driven wildfires.
