... Accumulating snow expected in the area tonight and Sunday...

Snow is expected to overspread the area from west to east this
evening... and then continue at times late tonight and Sunday. By
Sunday evening... new snow accumulations are expected to range
from an inch or less over southwest Michigan... to 3 to 4 inches
along the Route 24 corridor... including Monticello... Fort
Wayne... and Defiance. Areas farther southeast including Marion...
Portland... Van Wert... and Lima are expected to receive heavier
accumulations of 4 to 6 inches. The snow will likely cause slick
roads across the area overnight and into Sunday... especially
across northern Indiana and Northwest Ohio.

... Another record low temperature set at South Bend...

A record low temperature for February 28th of -7 degrees was set at
South Bend at 509 am EST this morning. This is the second record low
at South Bend in as many days and breaks the old record of -4 set
last year.

The past 16 days... February 12th through the 27th... were the coldest
at South Bend ever record for this period with an average
temperature of 11.4 degrees.

The normal high for today at South Bend is 40... and the normal low
is 24.
