Statement as of 9:56 PM EST op 31 januari 2015

...Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 4 am EST Monday...

Hazardous weather...

* heavy snow...8 to 12 inches storm total. The period of heaviest snow expected during the daytime hours on Sunday.

* Blowing and drifting snow...especially Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.


* periods of heavy snow with blowing and drifting snow making travel difficult or impossible. Some unplowed roads will become impassible.

* Blowing and drifting snow Sunday afternoon into Sunday night.

* Visibilities will be reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.


* snow will continue to overspread the area late this evening and then continue through Sunday. The snow will taper off from west to east late Sunday night. The period of heaviest snow is expected during the daytime hours on Sunday.


* confidence is very high that heavy snow will occur. However there is medium confidence with respect to exact amounts and the exact location of the heaviest snow.
